Fête de Pâques

It's Easter again. And once again the only way to eat hot cross buns (here in France) is if June makes them.
For those with long memories, this will not be a surprise. Last year we sampled the recipe from Delia, normally a very safe bet. But this year June gave Nigella a chance- and I can add how superb they are.
Well done to Nigella (or perhaps to her mum to whom she gives the credit). And, of course, to June for all that kneading!

(Initially sent from my phone -
but it never arrived so this blog is late!)

Bonus photo. Slightly out of focus, but it's too late to take another because there are now bit missing!

Hot and cold

We have had a little snow. Not nearly as much as some parts of England, although some parts of France are bad too.

This morning our road was blocked. The snow was not directly the problem, bit it appears that the cold that comes with the snow may have contributed. As you see, the firemen needed access to the roof just down the road from us. The photo was taken from our living room window as I opened the shutters this morning.

The road stayed blocked for ages. Now it is open again but still with a layer of snow. It was -6'C last night.

Picnic in the rain

A sheltered snack
It is raining. But you can't stay cooped up for ever so we set off for our favourite spot by the lake and chanced our picnic being in the car!
As there is no summer activity yet, we saw just 2 people out for a walk, we were able to shelter by the ice cream hut. It has a good view of the lake too. (photo added).
View out of our shelter!

Enjoy your weather where ever you are!

Sent by mobile on the day, but it never went (poor lakeside signal!).
