An amazing machine

As you can see, a lorry-sized machine was making a noise from 6:30 this morning. There was a lot of banging and hissing noises too.

Bin High
So what can you see? The gantry is holding up a bin. Normally the small green/grey bit at the top is all you see. Into this, people deposit their recyclable items.

I always wondered why it did not fill up quickly. Now I know. There is a huge box below it, underground.

The lorry, aided by the man, has just emptied the large box into itself. The man hoses down the box, and then vacuums out the hole in the ground (he was at this point in the picture). All very noisy. Soon the box will be back in place ready to recycle and help save the planet.

And peace will return to the "rue Winston Churchill". How appropriate.

And here the bin is back in place.
It's the small object just behind and to the right
of the lorry.
This last picture is better quality, I guess because the sun is now almost up and there is more light.

Must go to work. Happy birthday to Tim. Hope you all remembered!
